Action Plan

Nocked (v) means to fit (an arrow) to the bow, ready for shooting.

As a wellness fanatic and highly self-aware individual, I believe my mental strength and sleep health is currently at its peak, but sadly I am really inconsistent with consistent healthy eating and exercise. This was really bothering me and I decided to embark on a lasting (key word) lifestyle change to eat right and exercise regularly. I have had a bad pattern (for years) of stopping and starting “diets”, trying paleo and other trends (and actually losing weight) but basically stopping and just end up being overweight and inconsistent with exercise and eating.
I set a goal in September 2018 to get fit and strong, eat better and lose weight. I realised that previously I had set goals butt did not back it up with a fool-proof action plan to achieve the goal and a strategy to keep myself motivated. I needed to make a change this time.

My Action Plan

1. I decided to hire a personal trainer that would help keep me focused and give me guidance and support. I train with her twice a week and (I’m supposed to) exercise on the days I don’t see her.
2. I keep a food diary of what I eat every day and what time I am eating. I also add the amount of water I drink and exercise I did for the day. The diary is checked by my PT.
3. I started a second Instagram page to share snippets from my food diary, healthy meals and tips I am learning along the way. The reason I started it is to basically ‘hack my motivation’ by holding myself accountable and also increase my own dopamine when people follow and like posts . (It works!)
4. I follow some really superfit and strong women on Instagram. It helps when you are lazy and see somebody working out on their feed or instastory.

If you are a newbie at eating healthily (no paleo! I eat carbs.) and need to get motivated to eat better, get healthy and fit or just need some ideas of what to make then follow me on instagram @nockedlife to see my weight loss and fitness journey.
